So yeah! I finished my sweet charity fic. I'm really glad that the person I was writing for is so patient and understanding, as it is close to two months overdue. But, in all fairness, I had promised her 1500 words and instead gave her over 10,000. I think it's a fair trade off and I hope she does too! *g*

Next on the agenda:

- Chapter 2 of Fanfare. I've been stalled on this for a while; i basically go and read it over and write a few words before stopping. I know what I want to write, it's just difficult to get it actually down.

- Chapter 2 of Ashes in the Fall. I've been stalled on this for even longer than Fanfare! I need to re-watch some BSG so I can recapture Kara's character, since this is such a heavy, Kara-centric chapter.

- Sequel to Sanctus Espiritus. A lot of people have asked for me to continue this and I finally got a plot bunny for it. Which makes me happy, b/c I love Jack Carter.

- small ficlet for chase_acow in honor of her birthday. This, I've actually started, so go me! And, for once, I don't think it's going to be super long. Though, I could see it being a jumping start for something bigger.

- So when I started There's Us, I wrote 3500+ words of Torchwood fic. And then I realized it in no way was going to match what my bidder wanted. So I tossed it and started over. Which was a pain and almost made me cry. Don't get me wrong, I actually like how There's Us turned out and am surprised by a lot of what I wrote, b/c hello! so not expecting more than half of what I did write, and certainly not the TW-1 stuff or 10,000 words of fic. But yeah. I really do like what I originally wrote, and since I'm not under the constraint to make it happy or end with happy Janto, I do want to go back and finish it.

- Tag to Children of the Gods, SG-1, 1x01. Don't ask. Really. Just don't.

wow. I wrote close to 5,000 words today. I think another couple of thousand will bring this latest sweet charity fic to a close. Thank the gods - I started and discarded ~3000 words of what I originally started with because it just wasn't working.

In other news: SGA Big Bang is open for business. Looks like there are some really good entries this year. Also, some really long ones. One clocked in at 130,000+ words and another at over 240,000 words. *g* I have a lot of reading to do before school starts up again!

off to bed - have a concert to go to tomorrow, which should be nice. Though, I imagine I'll be deafened by the time I get home tomorrow.

Summary: When the TARDIS decides to take the Doctor to a budding young empath, no one realizes just how much is about to change. In this part: the First Doctor and Ianto meet.
Author's note: Thanks go to newra_skylarke for beta service. This fic is inspired by szm's Chance Meeting. Many months ago, after I read her fic, I was struck by the thought of what if Ianto Jones had known the Doctor for most of his life? From there, I was inspired by tanarian and her fic, A Matter of Perspective, which was the first empath!Ianto fic I ever read. I used the idea of Ianto being a powerful empath to put him into the path of the Doctor. At the moment, the first arc is going to consist of 20 parts, and will focus primarily on the First, Fifth, and Tenth Doctor. There is a second arc planned, that will encompass a lot of TW Season 2 and DW season 4. As a side note, I am still looking for a beta who is familiar with Classic Who. Also, sheafrotherdon wrote a wonderful SGA fic here. While it is McShep, it is also a really strong team fic, which explores what happens when the Pegasus natives decide they are tired of the expedition's actions in Pegasus. I highly recommend this - it is fics like this that keep me hanging on the edge of SGA fic nowadays.
